When you want to enjoy some cool wireless broadband but the coverage of your area is not that good you gotta invent something else to help you achieve the strength of the signal. For this you can use anything you are capable to find. Barbeque grilles, tin foil covered umbrellas, frying pots and cooking pans – all can do for this. You can see all those and even more that are being actually used by Russian mobile phone users in their search of mobile connectivity. Maybe you have some cool ideas too? So please share them to make our life more convenient.

Yes I am.
Are you?
Third…. Nice Gypsy technology
4th. And it’s working ?
There are many how-to articles and videos over at instructables.com to show people how to set up these kinds of home-made devices for cell phone reception and wireless internet connectivity.
This is not a mobile phones!
This is a mobile WiMax internet device.

G-H-E-T-T-O!
So, this is for the theft of internet connections?
They need to build a giant one in the Russian far east facing Moscow in order to receive signal.
but do they actually work?
I’ve heard of wi-fi antennas being made from Pringles chip containers.
I like the double- duty of the spaghetti strainer cum collector parabola. Eat and enjoy.
Go back to the national asylum.
If they work, they are very cleaver.
Love the 2-liter cola bottle cantenna mount. Takes care of mounting the antenna in front of a parabolic reflector very well!
For all those questions, yes, cantenna waveguide type antennas work very well. These originated in the Amateur Radio community and have been adopted all over the world where people need to get better reception in this RF frequency range.
Hehe, that thing with coffee can is actually great DIY wifi antenna 🙂
Wow!!
Actually, this is WiMAX 4G internet modem “Yota” (www.yota.ru), and I own the same modem. As my neighbour, and he has the same construction in his house.
Yota is notoruios for it’s nasty connection speed, so these sick bowls help to improve it… for some 0.0001%.
i used to do same thing in the US to get a better wifi signal from my friends house.there was about a 25% increase in signal strength using strainer.
Hello, just browsing for information for my Georgia 4g website. Truly more information that you can imagine on the web. Not quite what I was looking for, but very nice site. Have a nice day.
